About BridgeIt

BridgeIT is a structural engineering competition organized under Aakaar, IIT Bombay, focusing on the design and construction of a double-decker, arch-supported bridge.
Participants are required to construct a lightweight bridge model using popsicle sticks, cotton threads, and Fevicol, strictly adhering to the prescribed material rules.
The bridge design must satisfy specified geometric and structural constraints to ensure maximum efficiency, stability, and structural integrity.
Completed bridges will undergo physical load testing, and performance will be evaluated based on load-to-weight ratio and dimensional accuracy.

Phase 1: Registration

To be declared (tentatively mid-March). The final shortlisted teams will present their models and undergo load testing at IIT Bombay during the Aakaar main fest.

Rules & Regulations

This is a bring-from-home competition; participants must arrive with their completed bridge models.
Certificates will be awarded to all teams that get shortlisted for the final event at IIT Bombay.
Team size may range from 1 to 4 members, open to all students from any recognized college.
Any form of misconduct, unsafe practices, or interference during inspection or load testing will lead to immediate disqualification.
The decision of the organizers regarding testing procedures, scoring criteria, penalties, and disqualification shall be final and binding.
